Medical action:
Methenolone is an anabolic steroid. When entering the cell nucleus, it stimulates the genetic apparatus of the cell, which leads to increased synthesis of DNA, RNA and structural proteins, activates tissue respiratory chain enzymes and stimulates tissue respiration, oxidative phosphorylation, ATP synthesis and intracellular macrodomain aggregation. It stimulates anabolic processes and inhibits the catabolic process caused by glucocorticoids.
Methenolone administration leads to increased muscle mass, reduces fat deposits, improves trophic tissues, promotes calcium deposition in bones, retains sodium and water in the body. The hematopoietic effect is determined by the increase in erythropoietin synthesis. The androgenic effect may contribute to the development of male-type secondary sexual characteristics.
